TP-Link Tapo C200 is offline: what to do
The camera was online before but now appears offline in the app.

Most likely causes
Power interruption or loose cable
- Check the USB plug is firmly inserted into the camera and the outlet.
- Unplug the camera for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
- Open the Tapo app and see if the camera comes back online.
Router or internet outage
- Verify other devices on the same wifi still have internet access.
- Restart your router/modem by turning it off for 30 seconds and powering it on again.
- When the network is back, check the camera in the app.
Wifi name or password changed
- If you changed your wifi name or password recently, open the Tapo app and update the camera's wifi settings.
- Follow the app prompts to reconnect the camera to the new network details.
Firmware or software glitch on the camera
- Power‑cycle the camera by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
- If that fails, perform a factory reset (see reset procedure below) and set the camera up again.
Factory reset
WARNING: A factory reset erases all settings and linked accounts; you will need to set the camera up again in the Tapo app.
- Ensure the camera is plugged in to power.
- Locate the reset button (small pinhole or button on the bottom/back of the camera).
- Press and hold the reset button for about 5–10 seconds until you hear a tone or the LED changes.
- Release the button and wait for the camera to reboot (may take about a minute).
- Open the Tapo app and add the camera again via 'Add Device'.
