Shelly Plus 1 won't connect to wifi: what to do

Device fails to join your Wi‑Fi network during setup.

  • Check your router and ensure a distinct 2.4 GHz network is available or create a temporary separate 2.4 GHz SSID.
  • Connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz network before adding the Shelly in the app.

  • Verify the password by connecting another device to the Wi‑Fi using the same credentials.

  • Move the Shelly closer to the router during setup or bring your phone nearer to the device.
  • Check other devices in the same area for connectivity; if they also struggle, move the router or use an extender.

  • Press and hold the button 5 seconds to enable AP and Bluetooth.
  • Confirm the LED shows AP active (1s on / 1s off) and try the app again.

Factory reset

Warning: factory reset will erase Wi‑Fi settings, schedules, cloud integrations and custom configurations.

  1. Ensure the device is powered.
  2. Press and hold the device button for 10 seconds.
  3. Wait until the LED shows the reset blink pattern and then release the button.
  4. Re-add the Shelly in the Shelly Smart Control app and reconfigure it.
